demand prejudgement? Must we,
with the certainty of pose command
a higher peak? Must we, oh, slovenly
arrayed, take upon ourselves the ermine
that would bestow, image that it is,
such royalty as to damn our oppressors
as other than us, certain in our righteousness,
certain that the lash be woven as malice
and not the errant weave of a fool
unschooled in the artistry of twine.
